In keeping with the MACC’s dedication to supporting the victims of the wildfires, patrons for this concert are asked to bring non-perishable items for the Maui Food Bank. As an added incentive, patrons who bring donations will be entered into a drawing to win a signed show poster and a meet-and-greet with the artist.

Amy Hānaialiʻi's performance delves deep into her ancestral roots in Hawai`i, while also recounting the lineage and stories of her English, Ojibwe, and Norwegian heritage and the paths they took. She invites you to explore the interconnectedness of our backgrounds while unlocking those ancestral memories that have shaped our present and future. Through Amy Hānaialiʻi's journey, we are invited to reflect on our own ancestral ties and the legacies that define us.

 Kinohi marks a pivotal moment in both time and space, representing the beginning of a journey. It embodies our genesis, the tale of our very existence, weaving together past and present and the paths that led us here. It speaks to our identity, reflecting the rich tapestry of ancestors from diverse regions who navigated their canoes through the vast ocean of our genealogical development.

Through breathtaking imagery and heartfelt storytelling, this concert features stunning visuals and deeply personal moments as Amy is joined by her beloved `ohana, including acclaimed fashion designer and Kumu Hula, Micah Kamohoaliʻi, and the celebrated Hālau Nā Kīpuʻupuʻu. Together, they beckon you to embark on a remarkable journey through their extraordinary lineage, weaving mele, moʻokūʻauhau, and memory into a compelling voyage of identity and ancestral remembrance, inviting all of us to look back so we can move forward.

This concert is part of the MACC’s signature Hoʻonanea Series, so there will be pre-show festivities in the courtyard, displays of Maui arts & crafts, with dinner, snacks, and a full range of beverages available for purchase.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Yokouchi Pavilion.
